Quiana Lewis (junior), Jessica Greene (senior), Jamilah Riddick (junior) are among a group of Fisk students participating in the HBCU Wellness Project Summer Institute at Meharry Medical College. The institute is a two-week internship that offers instruction to students interested in the design of a research project that addresses health disparities in Tennessee.
Students in the program are known as health ambassadors and work with faculty mentors from Meharry Medical College. Along with Fisk, the program also includes student delegates from Lane, Knoxville and LeMoyne-Owen Colleges. The delegates will return to their universities and execute their research during the 2008-2009 academic year in the communities that surround their universities.
If you are a current Fisk student involved in an internship this summer, contact the office of communications and public relations at 615-329-8566 or email gbryant@fisk.edu.
