
Acclaimed Harlem Renaissance Artist and founder of the Fisk University Department of Art Aaron Douglas is one of many artists featured in the latest gallery exhibit.
The latest installation, “African-American Collection Highlights”, at Fisk University Galleries features an important cross-section of works by African-American artists that include Henry Ossawa Tanner, Aaron Douglas, William Henry Johnson, Jacob Lawrence, Romare Bearden, Richmond Barthe and Hale Woodfuff.
All of the featured works are from Fisk’s permanent collection and are located in Gallery 1 of the University’s Carl Van Vechten Gallery. The Carl Van Vechten Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is $10 with discounts for seniors, minors accompanied by adults and college students with university I.D.s.
