On February 12, Fisk University will host an information session for Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), a career preparation and internship program for rising college juniors among underrepresented populations. The session will be held in Park Johnson Hall, room 303 from 6:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Based in New York and Houston, MLT is a comprehensive, twelve-month initiative that provides selected junior undergraduate students with personal career coaching and planning, quarterly workshops and exposure to 42 leading corporations in the United States that include Time Warner, Major League Baseball, Google, PepsiCo, Pfizer, Nike and Shell.
Fisk junior Jamilah Riddick is one of the current 220 members of MLT that were selected from a pool of 543 MLT applicants from across the United States. “The one-on-one career counseling, resume building and job interview preparation at MLT has assisted me in defining my career path. I will begin an internship this summer in accounting and I strongly recommend that eligible students submit their credentials for consideration to MLT.”
To be eligible for MLT, Fisk students must be current sophomores or members of the class of 2011, have a grate point average of 3.0 and submit an updated resume and answer essay questions that demonstrate campus and community leadership, as well as career goals and academic achievement.
The Management Leadership for Tomorrow program is open to all eligible students regardless of major or area of academic concentration. At the undergraduate level, over 90% of MLT’s Career Preparation fellows secure internships offers and over 95% secure full-time job offers upon graduation.
