Seventeen science teachers from Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) participated in the fourth NCLT Nanoscience Workshop at Fisk University organized by Fisk University Professor of Chemistry Dr. Weijie Lu.
The workshop is a part of the National Center for Learning and Teaching in Nanoscale Science and Engineering (NCLT). Teachers in attendance had an opportunity to summarize successful experiences in implementation of the NCLT modules in their classrooms in the previous academic year and discussed effective science learning tools. The NCLT Workshop will impact Nashville Public Schools this fall when the first nanoscience course at a high school in Tennessee will be offered at Hume-Fogg Magnet High School. The course was developed by professors at Northwestern and Fisk Universities and was approved by the Board of Education in Tennessee this year.
