Congratulations to WFSK General Manager Sharon Kay as she has been named “Best Radio Station General Manager” at the 2010 March of Dimes’ Achievements In Radio (A.I.R.) Awards. The A.I.R. Awards recognizes accomplishments in different areas of broadcasting that include station events and promotions, public affairs and advertising and on-air talent. Eight different major markets are eligible for the awards an each market delegates radio professional to serve as judges for the award nominees.
“WFSK serves as a real voice of the Nashville community,” Sharon said in an interview published by the Tennessee Tribune. “Our listeners rely on programming that they can’t hear anywhere else in the city. When they support WFSK they’re supporting more than just a radio station. They’re bringing in news and information as well as entertainment that is sometimes overlooked by commercial stations.”
